Why does it cost money to transfer a domain?

A domain transfer will cost money at every domain registrar or web host. The reason for this is that there's no way to transfer a domain without renewing it in the process.
Upon transfer, it will thus not only be transferred, it will also be renewed for another year.

If you don't wish to have your domain name with MightWeb, you can decide to keep it at your current registrar, and simply point the domain name to our nameservers.
